Termination & Disputes FAQ

Common questions about account termination, liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution on the Opengates Platform.

How do I close my Opengates account?

You can close your account through your account settings or by contacting support@opengates.app. Before closing, make sure to resolve any pending disputes, pay outstanding fees, and back up any important data. Once deleted, your account and associated data cannot be restored. See Termination of Services.

What happens to my data after my account is terminated?

Opengates retains your data for a limited period after termination to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. After that period, your data is deleted or anonymized. Content you shared publicly or with other users may remain visible unless removed by the Platform.

Can Opengates suspend my account without warning?

Opengates may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations, prolonged inactivity, legal requirements, or if the account poses risks to the Platform. Users will be notified via email or in-platform notifications and may be given the opportunity to appeal. See Termination of Services.

Is the Platform provided with any guarantees?

No. Opengates provides its services on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. See Liability and Disclaimers.

What is Opengates' liability cap?

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Opengates' total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Opengates in the six months preceding the event, or USD $100, whichever is greater. Opengates is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. See Liability and Disclaimers.

What does the indemnification clause mean for me?

By using the Platform, you agree to defend and hold harmless Opengates from any claims, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use or misuse of the Platform, including violations of the Terms and disputes from your content or transactions.

How are disputes resolved?

Disputes are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which Opengates operates. By using the Platform, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts. This does not restrict your rights under consumer protection laws. See General Provisions.

Can Opengates change the Terms of Service?

Yes. Opengates may update the Terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via the Platform or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform. See General Provisions.

Email us at support@opengates.app. We strive to respond promptly. If you are not satisfied with our resolution, you may have the right to contact your local data protection authority. See Contact Us.
